about
It all started with a random post on Reddit that struck a chord with me – the struggle of doing simple tasks like dishes while battling depression. Drawing from my own journey through those dark moments, "Drowning" became a way for me to express those feelings and connect with others who may be going through similar experiences
lyrics
Verse 1:
I'm tired
Even though I got all
My eight hours
My feet start to drag
To the shower
It's too hood, too cold
Water's louder
Overpowered
Verse 2:
The dishes
Are piling up in the sink
And I'm wishing
Someone else could take away
All this thinking
My thoughts fast and slow
It's beginning
The transition
Chorus:
I watch the tide come in
I watch the sky grow dim
I watch the clouds roll in
Here's the water and the dark
Floating out here on an ark
But I'm sinking
The tide comes in
Black water darker than my skin
I watch
As the waves curl into the shore
And sure I learned to swim.
But I feel like I'm drowning.
I'm slowly drowning
Verse 3:
Exhausted
Don't know if I'm swimming
Or I'm walking
Cant tell if I'm floating
Or I'm faltering
I'm alright and all wrong
And I'm wondering
Is it thundering
Chorus:
I watch the tide come in
I watch the sky grow dim
I watch the clouds roll in
Here's the water and the dark
Floating out here on an ark
But I'm sinking
The tide comes in
Black water darker than my skin
I watch
As the waves curl into the shore
And sure I learned to swim
Post Chorus.
But I feel like I'm drowning, drowning, drowning
I'm slowly drowning, drowning, drowning
I feel like I'm drowning, drowning, drowning
I'm slowly drowning, drowning
